James Edmondson 2025
Exhibition Promotional Materials

Overview
In 2024 I was selected by the Cal Poly Department of Art & Design to create advertising content for James Edmondson's exhibition In the Garage, I Feel Safe. No One Cares About My Ways. I was honored to help bring this event to life, considering Edmondson's exceptional work as a type designer and founder of Oh No Type Co.
Under his guidance as well as the Department’s, I worked under a very quick turnaround time in order to create assets such as posters, post cards, wall vinyls, and instagram content that helped facilitate attendance and add to Edmondson's internal displays.

Challenges
This project challenged me to think of the deliverables as vessels for presenting Edmondson's work in a way that remained true to his artistic vision. Working within a short turnaround time also pushed me to balance process and exploration with the practical demands of bringing the
exhibition to life.
Solutions
Using a limited color palette allowed Edmondson’s designs to remain the focal point of the materials rather than imposing a new brand identity onto his existing work. Additionally, I used the posters to demonstrate how his typefaces could be applied in real-world contexts while highlighting their versatility, personality,
and functionality.
